just because you now have an estate and no van becuase you missus made you sell it, dont start getting all stressy :-*, wfp in an estate car does not look to good really does it.

I have nothing against estate cars I used one when trad, thank god when I crash the last estate car I had I did not have 275 kg of water behind or I would not be here now cars are made to carry people not water so that now brings in the people that also drive people carriers  :P

My comment was aimed directly at LWC to make his head spin round as I know it annoys him.

Fair play to anyone making a living as long as it is safe who cares I started out in a car and a shed load of debt to start window cleaning

i had to work out of my daughters t reg rover 200 (3 door) (10 containers of water) last month while my van was in the garage....pain in the rear, but needs must........i reckon if you can afford a van then go for it, but you can easily work from an estate car if you need to.

Surely you can't work wfp for a whole day from an estate car ??? ??? ???

There's no way a 250l tank would last all day and I can't imagine a 400l tank fitting ???

Think I'll stick to my Transit; plenty of room for work gear and fishing gear ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

Why a 250 litre tank?  What about a 175 litre tank?

175 litres of water weighs about the same as 2 large adults - so an estate car would be quite safe enough. Laid flat with battens to stop the tank moving forwards/backwards or sideways, there wouldn't be a problem if you're only using the estate for travelling round town (i.e. 30 mph or less).

You can nip home to re-fill, if necessary. It depends how many houses you intend to do WFP per day.

Get a van when your 'round' warrants it.

If you want to use the estate for longer/FASTER trips - empty the water out.

I started off with a car then I went for the estate car but I never fancied the idea of having that tank in the back because I needed the car for the family so I opted for a trailer system and I even built my own trailer that I still have today.

My mate still uses an estate card with a 250ltr tank fitted, he does say you can feel the weight in there when its full, along with all the other gear he carry's and his ladders on the roof.

Well, it did look crap!!  Mostly because i had not much room left. even me poor trusted dog had to stay behind :(. The WFP set up  trashed the estate car. It is not meant to be used has a van.

If you are going to trash an old estate car, you might has well get an older van.
