Shurflo pumps
« on: November 11, 2009, 08:40:15 pm »
I have had 2 pumps go on me in the last few months. both had the pressure switches go pop a little while ago but as they had varistream controllers i bypassed them as i was told that the controller would be ok in keeping the pump controlled. Now i come to think of it, it sounds a little silly as if the pump is worked hard with the controller being high the pump will be more prone to being burnt out. Both times these have gone is when i have had 2 guys working off one pump. i'm wondering if the controller was up to high maybe the pump would of been burned out if the pressure switch wasn't there.

Anyone know anything?

if the pressure switch as gone why dont you just pop down to maplin and buy a new one for £1.70 odds, takes 10 mins to fit.

You should not use the presure switch when using the Varistream, as it has a in built one.

GW71N £1.49

remove the bottom of the pressure switch and one of these is inside a black cover.

The default setting on the Varistream is C, which I believe was 100 PSI.
