How do you price up your jobs?
New to this so im struggling with price at the minute...

Secondly is it easy to clean carpets withoout training or would you reccommend a cleaning course?

your a window cleaner coming over to carpet cleaning?

concentrate on window cleaning - your customers are repeats every 2-4 weeks.

unless you want to get the training, invest in advertising which may or may not pay off, plus the machine you need to do a good job is not cheap.

If you have the money to invest then yeah, could be a nice move.... But training and a capable machine is a must, which is gonna cost you.

As far as pricing goes, it can vary from £1 to £5 per sq metre....  Or £20-£100 per hour....... Depending on how much you can get away with

Get the training first, its a must.

Then get your flyers/letters done and when you do your customers windows and knock on the door to get the money, hand her a flyer and say you are now doing carpet cleaning as well, show the cert to show youv been on the course and away you go. Try and get someone who has a few years experience allready, obviously not from your area to get hands on experience, you cant beat that.

You have probably got the best 'get in' that we others dont have, ie they know you already. For the rest of us its whats called a 'stress purchase' for the custy, they dont know us and arent sure whats going to happen.

Another nice little tip is get some photos off your capet cleaning work ie before and after and make a small portfolio up and on quotes it will get you lots more work

CC probably looks pretty attractive in comparison this time of the year. Come January though you will thank your lucky stars you are a WC, even more so if we have a summer next year.

I would look at why you want to do CC. If it's to fill in gaps in your week then forget it. Rather than spend time and money on CC equipment and training refocus your efforts on your marketing of WC.
