sign writing or not?
« on: November 06, 2009, 03:42:30 pm »
Sign writing van..

Now I have started the ball rolling on getting my dream machine which will be a nut and bolt restoration/rebuild...will be ready in about 22 months time :'(

Anyways for those who have been going some time...and have full rounds...do you bother to sign write your wagons?

Most of my business now comes from word of mouth and the odd leaflet I drop (328 this year ;D)...so what is the real benefit would you say to sign writing...

Cheers
Dave

ps...I just do not want to spoil the new wagon...with nonesense.

Yes, I don't think I'd want to cover that with 'big jobs'!

You could always get some nice big magnetic signs on the sides ? Keeps the new customers coming, to replace those lost or dumped!

It is after all the cheapest form of advertising apart from referrals!

Well that's what i would do :)

Personally, I don't have sign writing. The reason for that is because I want to retain a good level of controll over the quotes a have to give & know where they came from. I haven't time to deal with enquiries from any tom, dick or harry if you know what I mean. ;)

Thats just a cubby hole which can fit a jerry can....but I was thinking about using that for pump controller, 12v submersible pump switch and hose to fill trolley/backpack and for tank emptying hose/valve.

Some people who do overland trips find behind that area a good place to fit a additional 45 litre tank for water or fuel..

Thanks for that very valuable input mac ;D

Cheers
Dave.

Hello Pingu,

Sign writing is a must, although you do get a lot of work from word of mouth.

If you travel around a lot and go further out your business is seen by a whole lot more people and could become more recognised.

All I can say to this is YES to sign writing.

Kind regards. :)

I've had a few vans and estates through the years but Thursday of this coming week will see me get my first sign written on my vehicle.
I've always picked up business no problem without it but thought i'd give it a go, looking forward to looking the part in my sign written Connect
