Its a little slow, but we all know the response could take a week or 2 after they have been dropped, picked up 3 more customers today.

Thats hard to tell, as you can have customers call you up months after the leaflets have been dropped.
We have spent about a grand on the leaflets and having them dropped which should be completed in the next 3 weeks.
I am certain we will get back more then £500 worth of work per month.
I'm not knocking any round builders, we have spent a grand already and can't afford to spend anymore on advertising.

wow £70 a house is impressive,

MB I was only asking out of interest as I would like to know how responses and cost compares to my methods.

GD I wasnt knocking you, its just hard to to get a cost per customer, the figure I have now will be out of date come Wednesday.

Leaflet dropping I have found has brought in between 1% and 2% return. (personal experience)
if I get 1% return from the leaflets I will have 350 customers, average price £10 (conservative price) thats around the £3,500 per month.
The round builders that I have inquired about charge double what they get, so they would want £7,000 for that work.
compared to £1,000 we have paid.
leaflet dropping in general brings in 1%-3% return. if you can improve on that then alot of your clients would be happy.

was a house and flats attached, 2 houses would have been nice but wrong area for higher value property

We have received the leaflets and in the process of having approx 15,000 dropped, I have to take another 10,000 to the delivery company on thursday, so a week tomorrow we will have the second batch going out.
having 35,000 leaflets in circulation around my area will be a huge boost, we are also on google, yell.com, yellow pages and the local magazine and paper.
if all of this doesnt start bringing in customers, I will have to resort to door knocking myself. but I am confident that I won't need to go out.
