best pocket scraper?
« on: October 27, 2009, 04:56:57 pm »
getting feed up with my unger pocket sraper as its a nightmare with changing the blade! its hard to dry it all the time and the blade rusts easy, making it a pain to get out.

always end up snapping the blade when trying to change it, which makes it even harder to change.

anyone got a better one? i know there far better longer handled ones but i find the pocket scrapers handy at times.

nice one

cheers

i use a 6 inch scraper from triumph2000 .it a retractor ,but its a pain to retract ,impossible 1 handed .  i bought the stainless steel blades for it and one box will last me a lifetime ,at least !

i still hav a 4 inch scraper somewhere but u cant get 4 inch stainless blades far as i know .

last one down the bottom of the page.it's only the blade that goes rusty and it's easy to replace and fits nice

Retractable metal scrapers rust and gunge up ,plastic retractable ones gunge up and break.
I use the small 99 pence ones from my local supplier ,these are fixed blades and i attatch mine to a retractable device(the ones that you buy from the key cutting shops )This comes with a clip which i clip to the front of my shirt where it is convenient and safe when i need it.

ive got the unger 4 inch scraper,i like it!it fits on the end of my pole when i need it.good cover thats  not constantly breaking like the ettore one!a bit fiddly to change blades but gets easier the more you do it!top notch scraper IMO.all blades rust after a while.just change the blade!i usually change mine about once a month or if the blade snaps off on the edge!! ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!
