Hi guys just got delivery of my new ro just pluged in where the old ro left off and i'm now in the process of flushing it without being attached to di, just wondering the waste that is coming out from the white pipe which will be plugged into the di soon is giving me a tds reading of 98/100 is this NORMAL i can't remember. thanks.

To my knowledge the water being made passes through the RO into your tank and then leaves your tank to pass through the DI on way to the window so how is your waste going through your DI unit??

i disconnect my DI and run it for a few hours and let that water just run away, my 100 GPD ends up at around 006 - 007 without DI

so run it for a while, if you have run it for a while and its still 98/100 i would say to try and refit the RO membrane, as it sounds as if its not seats correctly

Some have the DI before the tank, li,e myself, then others like yourself have the DI before the pump and after the tank.

It is said that you have to flush the membranes in the RO for atleast 2 hours before use, this is to remove any additives the manufacturers have put into the membranes to preserve them.

The waste pipe should be the red pipe with the tap.
you should have an inlet that grows into the pre filters then a pipe going from the ro to the di which should be blue.
I dont even remove the DI, I just have the waste pipe on flush.

Matt, i actually have my system like this RO, then tank, then pump, then DI to my pole All have outside ports too the main one being my pure port so i can lock the doors up and carry on when in particular areas

I have the water pure in the tank. as I have a mesh on the outlet of my tank and a cive on my pump, so if anything happens with the DI vessel you don't spray resin over the windows.

OK cheers for all your replies...the way i have my system is pipe from tap to booster pump then in to ro then out of ro in to di vessel then out to ibc tank.
One thing though i was just wondering  is when i was reading through the thread and the answers left from everyone when i come to flush my system which i do regurlarly i never use to disconnect it from the di vessel would it prolong the life of the resin in the di canisters if i were to unplug it from the di vessel in future when flushing? i will give that a try...

i was told you only flush for 5 mins or so ,

Flush it for 10-15 mins each day.
first flush of a new membrane is for approx 2hrs

you are meant to have the booster pump positioned between the pre-filters and the RO membranes.
