I've been waiting for an order from Greenie and he's gone very quiet on the subject. I hope he's still going as he is a real powerhouse of knowledge and a nice guy into the bargain.

Green glides have been threatened with court action for at least two years for COPYING another product and whether the man concerned was apparently a " nice " guy is irelevent.

How many con merchants / crooks, etc, have been known as " charming, well spoken, etc "

There are plenty of glide suppliers including the originals, still available

You can read about the whole sorry tale here:-

http://www.truckmountforums.com/forums/general-carpet-cleaning-and-upholstery-discussion/7019-jeff-lydon-greenglides-greenie-chem-dry-home-depot-harris-research-carpet-cleaning-glides.html

Be warned there are 19 pages of posts :o

In a nutshell from the first post:-

"I heard from a very good source to day. That Greenie is going to have to pay in damages to Harris Research/Chemdry upwards of 2 million dollars in damages and legal fees. That A bench warrant may have been issued."

There are excerpts from the court documents on this link and it shows that Greenie has lost the case and is due to pay damages to Harris Research.

Therefore it is not a surprise that the Greenglide site has gone down.

I spoke to Jeff a few times and he was indeed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Something has gone badly wrong here and I guess he has made a serious error of judgement in the beginning.

For those who do not know the story - Greenglides is a business owned by Jeff and Lisa Lydon in the States. They were one of the early pioneers of glides and partly responsible for their widespread use all over the world. For many years they have been in legal battles with Harris Research (owners of Chemdry) about copywright. Harris Research claim to own the rights to the glide design. They have been trying for years to stop the sale of greenglides. It seems that the American courts have backed Harris Research.

Apparently the glides busines was run by his ex wife and he's been involved in a separate t/m business according to another forum's posts he's been causing trouble/problems for another company too.
