If I ever leave a slip and envelope for money to be sent, some of the custys (custards) photocopy the slip and send the photocopy back with the cheque.  WHY?

They keep the original for their records - and if they use part of their home for business then they possibly count the window cleaning as a business expense?

This is the first time this particular one has done this, and I have another who sometimes does it.

Similer thing when I get a business cheque for a domestic clean - are they trying to pull a fast one with Customs and Excise?  Claiming that a domestic clean was on a business property?

if you are doing more than clerical work at your home address it's then classed as a business premise to some extent , one my custys is a furniture restorer has a workshop in house claims so much as business expenses ie window cleaning

yup it is law you have clean working facilities so you should have the windows cleaned regularly and claim for it.. think i might do that!!

A lot of the custies like to keep the payment slip as a reminder for when they were last cleaned so they have an idea when the windows are next due.
Some also keep it as a copy of their payment records.
Hence why I write the address on the inside of the envelopes so I know who they are from rather than tracking cheque account numbers and surnames.
