New website - opinions please?
« on: September 21, 2009, 11:16:11 pm »
Hi,

Just about finished adding content to my new site www.commercialguttercleaning.co.uk

Health & Safety page still needs to be done and need to change the stock photo, but what do you think so far?

Anyone who wishes to link to the site please feel free to do so.

Cheers,

Huw

Simple enough, so it gets my vote, but I think the word 'recoup' (first page, 2nd paragraph) needs to be replaced with "reimburse" as I don't think it is possible to 'recoup' somebody for or with something, they have to 'recoup' it themselves.

Well, believe me, you 'recoup' something for yourself. A 3rd party can 'recoup' it for you, but they don't 'recoup' you, they 'reimburse' you.

So, lets say you have a car crash which isn't your fault; your insurance company will pay out and will attempt to 'recoup' the excess you paid, from the people who were at fault. They will then 'reimburse' you the amount which they have 'recouped'. They will not 'recoup' you, they will 'reimburse' you.

Pedantic yes, but i will not be the only person who spots this, your potential new customer may too. Add to which, you tendered an invitation to share our comments  ;) :D Had you not,  I wouldn't have said a word  :-X

excellent site mate, I would have a different picture for ever page for the top. I would have the picture of Britain a solid colour rather than a texture and the bottom grey bar blended more with the white.

However a very professional looking website, looks fantastic mate.

The design is really good, I like it a lot.
Your keywords an optimisation needs a little work,... but you've got a good start on it at least.

Brilliant. Only one very small point: you always refer to <commercial guttering>. This is a little heavy every time. After the introduction you could just refer to <guttering> as the commercial bit will be understood.

Apart from that, it's excellent.

Nice site and to the point - easy to follow.

The photo on the 'About Us' page  could be better quality and perhaps some 'before and after' pics would be good.

Otherwise - excellent  :)

Nice site Hew, I agree that a different photo in the header would add to it.
