does anyone know the biggest size tank i can have in a vivaro van.

Depends.
Most are 2.7 tonnes GVW but some are 2.9 tonnes.  I have a 2.9 and that's no accident (Trafic rather than Vivaro but same shell).
In my 2.9 tonner, I have a 800 litre tank.  If carrying all my other equipment with a fairly full diesel tank (and no passenger), I would be marginally overloaded.  Therefore, the situation would be a 50 kilos worse for a 2.7 tonner with a 650 litre tank.  Of course, much depends on whether you carry passenger(s) when fully laden, your own body weight, and what equipment you carry.  On the rare occasions that I need a full load of water for certain jobs, I know well in advance.  Therefore, I allow the diesel to run down, remove non-essential equipment, and have a good dump before going to work.  I am rather overweight and could get another 20 kilos (litres) in if I were to start getting down nearer my right weight.

Cheapest option

Buy a fish tank from local aquarium centre and have it fitted diy, that way it'll work out really cheap

Or if you want a bigger one - go to Blackpool tower, theyre selling off a 100,000 litre shark tank, that should be ok, depending on weight of ladders, buckets, petrol

I lost 1st at 39,000.  Reverse was a pig too.
The van has now done nearly 78,000 and I'm wondering if I should get the gearbox changed at the next service.  Although certain vehicles are noted for certain recurring faults, I think it's a disgrace that something so basic should have such a short life.  I think it's reasonable to expect a gearbox to last the life of the vehicle or, at the very minimum, certainly go around the clock.

Got a 1.9 l with an 850 tank, rarely fill it unless it's a big job.
dont look who's to blame, look how to fix it. anon
