I have been cleaning windows since I left school 10 years ago, always using the traditional method. But having seen such good publicity on these pages for the wfp systems I am seriously considering entering this market. One thing that has always concerned me though is the fact that sometimes when cleaning bird muck off windows I really have to use some elbow crease and if it has been baked on by the sun I have to use a stanly blade to scrape it off. Since the wfp systems use pure water (which I dont imagine can be too good a solvent) how do you find them for getting this muck off the windows?

Baked on bird muck, yep, if it's baked on then it's a problem

You can get around it usually though, and thankfully it isn't on every window
Baked on muck you will pre-wet with the pure water and then carry on and clean a few windows (I'm talking upstairs windows of course) when you then come back to it, with any luck it is soft enough to get off with the brush and pure water. Pure water is more agressive than tap water and often then is enough.
If it isn't, then use the plastic edge of the brush, easy enough when you tilt the brush head to one side.
Still to hard and baked on?
Give up with brush, swear profusely, throw brush on floor and attach your Unger 4 inch scraper to a squeegee handle, pop it on the end of your pole and knife the now hated piece of fossilized bird poo of the glass

I've been using WFP for just over 12 months now and so far I HAVEN'T needed to do that, but I do concede it is a possibility

On lower windows it is a simple matter of course.

Also you can glue an abrasive pad to each edge of the brush head  ( the same material thats on your applicator)
and use that as well.

Please excuse my pathetic attempts at art! It's supposed to represent a plastic cone fitting on the end of the pole. It would not get in the way and wouldnt wiegh much. WHen you need to use your scraper you could fit it on the end and then flip the pole over to scrape. You then wouldn't need to remove the brush.

I've a friend who works for the government in the patent office.  He's bored me by telling me about his work before; but I may steal your idea and patent it!  I'll speak to him first though.

i hate to be a kill-joy

BUT

wouldnt the cone bit stop the brush from getting to the very top of the window ?

i guess if it was hinged (like the unger elbows are) you could have it bent all the way back, thus wouldnt get in the way

Yeah you are right it would need to be hinged or clip off like ungers ones
