Personally, I find dog earing makes no difference, tried it on all my squeegees & found no difference at all.

i COULD NEVER QUITE UNDERSTAND WHAT I SHOULD DO IN DOGEARING MY SQUEEGESS.What i now do is this I take a wisegrip and close it about 1/2 mm smaller than the end of the channel I then clost it on the end of each end so that the channel is closing on the very tip and this grips the rubber and stops the play in end and it defo works.

If dog-earring improves results then why are squeegees not manufactured this way?

Purely down to cost! to do dog earing would be another operation - it may cost only a penny or 2 but multiply this by hundreds of thousands and the savings are huge.

most manufactured items are not always the best but a compromise between manufacturing costs to profit and the item being good enough for the job.

If the channel that you use nomaly has clips in it, then if you dog ear the channel you will still need to use clips.
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.
