Chem-Dry marketing
«

Whilst cleaning the carpets in a high street travel agent today, I noticed the local Chem-Dry franchisee sitting outside in one of the parking bays with his hazard lights flashing
He cant be very busy as he was there 3 hours
I guess this must be a chem dry method of marketing with the unnecessary use of hazzard lights to draw the eye of the passing shoppers.

I think Chem-Dry has had its day, one minute cc, then in restoration, Has the bubble burst?
Its now been sold off, why?
How many ex-chems do you know?
Our local one was sending the boys out leaflet dropping, and now this from Paul.
Interesting to see what the future holds?

The only regular Chem-Dry advert that we knew of around here stopped a couple of months ago. We have seen a slight increase in enquiries since but mainly small jobs & price shoppers. Not sure which area of the market they had the most work from but the advert and 0800 recorded consumer message were so incredibly boring I'm always surprised that it ever worked at all.
I'm not sure what the state of play is with C-D or if they even still exist.

My local C/D lives in a £250,000 house drives a new jag and his wife has a very nice car, I see thier adverts everywhere.
I bet C/D read this board and laugh thier heads off at all the daft comments made about them :

Mike,
I agree with you Our local Chem Dry is also doing OK.
I have noticed that their have been the odd postings from Chem Dry operators claiming they are finding it hard to find new customers.
I think this is just the individual, not the company.
I was pleased to read it as it meant Chem Dry operators experience the same trials and tribulations as the rest of us,

I did a job for a lady who cancelled a chem dry booking recently, they wanted £4.50 per sq metre which is very high for norfolk.I would guess most cc's operate on around half that here.

I had a little chuckle the other day having read on the demise of C-D, perhaps I shouldn't have, but it brought a smile... I passed one of my local C-D's and noticed that half the sign writing had been ripped, and I mean ripped, off the side of his van.
If particular Mr C-D man is reading this - Sorry!

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down t' mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep wi' his belt.

Glynn, I dont believe you!
You could buy Preston for £300.000.
In Stevenage you would get 3 bricks a roof tile and a front door for that amount.
