Nope i havent really ever put ALL prices up been going for a couple of years, need too this year, and i think this might be the right excuse, i was going too a year ago but "recession" kicked in and i bottled out, although i have put a few up recently, one new person moved into house, and stuck a few quid in, and i doubled one the other day as the guy had a conny fitted which was huge and a porch on back door which was size of a small conny plus it was underpriced, also offered him a clean of roofs every other time, for 3x the original price.. He didnt look happy but paid up :)

I've just arrived back from Florida; I'm writing this whilst waiting for my connecting flight to Plymouth, and the petrol over there at the moment is $2.65 per GALLON!!

That's around £1.65 per gallon or 40p (ish) a litre.

And they were moaning!!!!!

Fuel is not a big overhead in Florida I guess; just sun cream ;D

Dont forget a US gallon is different to uk gallon, theirs is 3.summit lts and ours is 4 1/2.
Makes it a bit dearer than 40p a ltr,but nowhere near the price of ours  >:(

hi ST1Allstar

what van have you got mate and what is the mpg for lpg.

say most diesel vans ave 40-45mpg (is that right?)

always wondered about lpg have had a lot of probs with my escort van 8 yrs old thought i could hang onto for another 2 yrs but in the last few months spent a grand on it tyres, fuel pump, wheel hub and bearing; servicing, now soon to need clutch :'(

keep thinking of leaseing but can't make mind up all keeps coming up at £200.

 :'( :'(

thanks lee

lee i have a 2003 astravan 1.6 duelfual,

it does about 31mpg average over 1 tank of gas about 360-380 miles which costs about 22 quid, (54 litres)

i used to have a diesel astravan before and it would cost me 40 quid of diesel to do the same mileage, when diesel hit its peak last year lpg only went up to 49p per litre (diesel was 130p) so filling my van went to about 25 quid.

lpg is dirt cheap i would never drive a diesel again, my van has a factory fitted lpg kit by vauxhall and has been ultra reliable never needed anything in the last year and a half that i have owned it, and i have put 30k more on the clocks

i paid 3400 for it but you can pick them up for about 2-2500 now

when i was over in WDW last oct, they were complaining that it had risen above 2 bucks a gallon, at the the time the exchange rate was near 2 for 1 , thus it was slightly over 1 quid a gallon  :o :o i laughed

at the start of the year is was down to $ 1.6 a gallon  :o :o

make you think, why do we pay soooooo much

thanks ST1Allstar,

so mpg is slightly less than diesel but lpg is half price( a bit more)  ;)

nice tidy looking van you got there mate.

Are you trad or wfp?

I do like astravans but been told not prarical for wfp? due to being hatchback also is payload would be quite tight.

thanks lee.

Ps, always wondered is it anymore dangerous driving round with gas onboard in event of a crash (I just let myself in for major p taking ;D) it is late :)
