This is a (12v) 7ah whereas my original shurflo is (12v) 7.6ah

Anyone know if this is OK as a replacement. Anyone know of a replacement cheaper or better?

Your original specs are Just about better but not by much.
Yuasa batteries are made in Japan and its the selected battery for the security Industry I know this for sure because I installed hundreds of them. They are known for their reliability of deep discharging and charging known as a cycling charge.

With P&P it knocks the price to around what you would pay at somewhere like Maplins.
Check the dimensions of your battery against the dimensions listed and if it will fit then its a very good replacement.

The dimensions are exactly the same as the original. Never thought much of the original battery from the start, presume it had been on the shelf for a while. Never held it's charge for long. Luckily I only use it for the odd job, but it's virtually useless now.

Even if your not using your battery on a regular bassis then keep it charged, once a week Just put it on the charger, this will keep it in good nick for a lot longer.

yuasa have a fairly big factory up in ebbw vale .south wales .they sell second hand batterys ( as well as making them  )new ones that is .dont have any prices though

Jeff, How do you keep your battery charged up?

Do you use the original charger from shurflo or an Intelligent Battery Charger. I always used the charger that came with the backpack. But after putting the new Battery in today I noticed a massive increase in pump power. Very much the same as the 1st time I used the backpack.

So wondering if the original charger's are any good or, do these type of batteries die a little after every charge.

I use the original charger that came with my backpack but I'm one of the lucky ones who's charger has the led indication, my BP battery is over 2 years old now so I must be doing something right.

I have notice over time that it takes longer to charge but at most it takes around 2.5 hours to bring it back to full capacity.

Whenever you buy a new battery and begin to use and recharge it, every battery looses 10% of its capacity and you never get this back so your new battery will give a good output for a while but you will find the output drop just like your old one.

Charge it back up after every days use and your maintaining your battery and you will keep it in good nick.

I only use the baclpack probably 3 or 4 times a month and always charged it after use. The Shurflo charger has a green LED. Just wondering if buying from USA has any significance.

For infrequent use like yours Wayne keep your battery charged at least once aweek and this will keep your battery in good nick.

what I do when i know I'm going to be using mine is I put it on charge the morning I'm going to use it.

I think Shurflo stopped doing the charger with the LED indicator on so if you buy from the UK or States you no longer get the LED (unless someone knows different?)
