Employees and Family credit ?

Hi

Is it possible to get help with employees who would be on low income,

its not a cert, but if i employ someone on minimum wages or part time... could they apply for family credit?.... does it still exist?

Or the option they offer £75 per week to take someone off the dole?

Or would it be better to simply pay someone good rates and bonus's...

Or am i being a tight git,?


I just wondered if anyone knew the options of help available with
an employee.

like above as long as they earn NMW and work 16+ they quality, but what u might find is that some people only want to work part time as working full time is not worth it with what they get in tax credits

I think the scheme where you take someonee off the dole could be good as long as you pick right, you can interview as many as you want, and offer work trials, which are 2 weeks of free labour while you get to see if they're for you, and they keep recieving benefits....

Don't view it as making up a poor wage though as you may employ someone who does not qualify. Plus that would be plain wrong. (IMHO)

If they work 30 hours or more they will get tax credits anyway.

More importantly, you should look at how employing them will be cheapest for you. I don't mean by paying peanuts, but by what option provides you the most help.

As long as they have kids, they will get help.
