Cleaning window frames, gutters, and facias
« on: August 22, 2009, 07:07:02 pm »
Hi everyone,

I am starting out with a WFP system and would like to know how people have found cleaning window frames, guttering pipes & facias with the system

I have seen issues raised about water leaving marks after dripping from the top frame.  I have seen advice saying to leave the top frame alone.  I have customers that want the frames diong too.

Can this be done, and is so, any tips?

Thanks,

Paul

I'm quite new to wfp as well Paul but the way to go seems to be:
On first cleans spend a good while scrubbing all the frames on a house all round. Then by the time you go back to the start to do the windows the frames should have stopped dripping so you're ok to clean them. Then with subsequent cleans just give the frames a quick once over in the same manner and then do the windows.Frankly though,if the top of a frame looks clean,it's tempting to leave it alone. With gutters and fascias just clean them and rinse,no probs.

Best advice you will get.
I clean the top frames and i find the main problem this causes with spots is when it has dripped after the window has been cleaned. Especially from any brickwork above the frame that has got splashed.
As long as you don't splash everywhere and rinse the glass after cleaning the frame, this shouldn't be a problem.
