« on: August 19, 2009, 10:35:27 pm »
Was wondering what wording you use when telling customers about your 24hr rain guarantee ?

Am writting a letter to all my customers and was wondering what the best way to word it was.

Thanks in advance

rain guarantee

with our new rain guarantee we have now decided we do not care if you do not want them done in the rain, yes we know the customer is allways right, but not in this case , please note that even though we appear to be rushing and working super fast ( to get home and dry ) your windows will still be cleaned to a standard ( not sure what standard, but hey, as above, we dont care )

please come to the door with the money, as we dont want to be standing around in the rain for too long

thanks in advance

Just put that if the weather WHILST you are cleaning has affected the quality of the clean, you will call back and redo affected windows so long as they tell you within 24 hours,

i woldnt guarantee to fix windows messed up 23 hours after you did them !!

And its a good idea, because all of you work in the rain at some point whether its drizzle or anything else

today is going to be tough up here, its torrential at the moment. I tell them its a fourteen day guarantee, but dont work in heavy rain. I have had a couple of call backs before, but they where all marks on the inside when I only cleaned the outside, or double glazing with marks between the pains, but have never been called back to a job that hadn't been cleaned properly due to weather.

However I do feel that it is a waste of time in torrential rain and can affect the quality, but dont think you should avoid working the minute a dark cloud looms above, if I only worked when it was dry, I would have to find somthing else to do with the other half of the year  ;D

LOL at Matt!  ;D

I don't work in the rain cuz I don't like it. but here's a shot at it.

(Real thoughts in red)  ;D

Dear Mrs Custy,

Providing a regular and reliable service for you.

We at Rubbitt and Runn Window Cleaning (put your name here pul-leaze! ::))pride ourselves on high quality work provided on a regular basis. This means as one of our valued customers you know we will turn up when we say we will and you can plan accordingly. (and leave your piggin' gate open too!)

We are inundated with requests to clean windows and have a waiting list at present for those wishing to join our rounds. (that mad woman at No.57 and her mate...)To facilitate (posh management-speak word ;D)this we have decided that we will continue working in cloudy, showery and drizzly conditions - but never fear!

If we clean your windows and you look at them within 24 hours of the work being done and find marks caused by rain then simply call us back and we will re-clean the effected windows absolutely free of charge!(all fingers and other appendages crossed when the local coal plant fires up!)

Of course we will not clean in downpours or high winds, (anything over Beaufort scale 9) but hope you understand that to provide you with a regular affordable service (Koff, Koff! ;D)then this is an excellent solution which we have piloted elsewhere (on me mam's house, and she's half-blind...)on our rounds with great success.

Love and kisses,

Roger Rubbitt

Spot on Malc.

I was also wondering, these guys that give a 24 hour rain guarantee, does that  mean they wont guarantee their work if it isnt raining  ;)

I actually respect guys who train their custies this way - I personally just don't like working in the rain. But if I employed I don't want Charlie-boy sat on his rear twiddling his thumbs when he could be working.

So my letter, along with it's jocular witticisms (IMHO  ;D) is serious.

I don't understand why you should want to give a rain guarantee. From what I gather most of you do them every month so if a day after you've done them and the rain has made 'em look a bit grubby...so bleeding what?...you're back in 29 days time ::)

Why not offer a general 24 hr guarantee

"while we pride ourselves on the quality of our cleaning, if you have any issues with our work please contact us within 24 hrs of the clean, we will rectify problem areas at no extra cost to you the customer."

if you make it specific to rain, cust's will be looking for fault when it rains ;)

We do offer that '24 hour guarantee' and thankfully it has not been used that many times...but the offer is always there and it is also on their 'your windows have been cleaned' card.

Nothing wrong with backing up your product ;D

Cheers
Dave.

I guarantee that any cleans I do in heavy rain will be crap due to water running down the property walls and the fact that I can't see out of my glasses. The results are of course 110% perfect (in my eyes).
My customers are fine with this.  ;D

remember it can rain any time, even become torrential and have a three four day storm and will be terrible, and there is no way you can promise that this wont happen whether you work in bad weather or not, but they will be cleaner than what they would have been if you didn't clean them at all.

Totally agree. I do this at a 48 hour period and not one call back (yet).

Never lost a custy due to rain.  Had one or two saying "You always turn up when it rains"  So I tell the custy, rain doesn't affect your windows, it's the dirt that does.
I don't give guarantees, it only puts ideas into their heads.
