does anyone have an idea of how long a 300gpd RO unit will take to produce say 250ltrs of water compared to a DI vessel, are we talking ages and ages or quite quickly. and is there a big difference between the RO and DI

rl i already gave you the answer, you only need a di vessel, di is 10 times faster than an ro, your water is soft, i wish a supplier would come on and back me up on this, as i said earlier my tds is the same as yours, and i get months from it, in your case as you are only working a few days, will probibly last 6 months

thanks jouk, when I read your initial reply I was all set on the DI, but then other came on saying RO might be better, Now you've said DI is 10 times faster I think I'll go down that route. Will a 17 x 8 vessel be ok for me? If so any tips on wheres cheapest for the vessel and resin??

 that is the size of di vessel i use, my tds is exactly the same as you although it will drop in wniter, i am buying a bigger one soon  8"x24"  the bigger the longer your resin will last, heres what another supplier has to say,

This is the ideal size DI Vessel if you are filling your tank direct from tap pressure. Many suppliers sell their customers small DI Vessels but fail to advise them that volume versus flow rate is key to resin performance. TDS levels can rise when the flow rate is too fast for the volume of resin. To avoid this happening completely we recommend that you only use a di vessel 11L or above.

 rams 75 .water out of tap is 100 . it comes out of di its 000.what i forgot to say is is when it came out at 001 .i fitted 2 nd di .then when it came out of 2nd .di  at 001 i empted first di of old resin .filled it up with new resin n put it in front of 2nd di .that is how i got my recent figures .hope u all can understand this .because i just read back what i tyeped n i baffled myself .

rl,  I was only passing on my experience using a RO.
I can not advise re DI.
My 300gpd RO (no booster pump) produces around 30 litres per hr  at 60-65 tap psi, so that is  around 250 litres over eight hours.  Pure to waste is 1:1

hi pure tech, your advice is much appreciated, as I know nothing about this I'm happy that so many people can give me their opinions, still not ordered either the DI or RO!! Got the pole and backpack and no water to clean with, better get it sorted soon!

No problems rl, by the way, you could remove that no 7 section from your gxtel 30ft pole and just put it back on for the occasional job. Makes the pole a bit lighter and nicer to hold.
