Do you know of a good....
« on: August 13, 2009, 07:34:39 am »

...plumber, electrician, brickie, carpenter...?

Why do customers assume that because you clean windows all your mates are tradesmen as well?

Think about it - subconsciously it easy to believe that people of the same type associate with each other - you know - "birds of a feather etc."?

In a way they are elevating your status from "just a window cleaner" to a proper tradesperson!

 ;D

(Actually my mates are a roofer, carpenter, builder and an electrician actually - along with a building society manager, a burger van owner and a couple of window cleaners too!)

So if you want a mortgage to pay for your new windows, roof and house re-wire I can get the job done - you want fries with that?
It's a game of three halves!

i do as it happens , if you get on well with custy they may ask , because if you do you would only recommend  someone decent otherwise it reflects badly on you , i will only recommend some one who has done work for me

I get asked that all the time and I have been able to recommend the builder who did our extension to a few customers.
I get asked about gardeners the most.

Yep I get it too. Had one customer on her first clean ask me if I knew a bin cleaner, house cleaner and gardiner.

I reccomended 2 of my customers for the last 2, but don't know a bin cleaner as yet
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

And another today: "Excuse me do you know any window fitters?" This wasn't even a customer, just some woman calling up to me from the pavement.

I said: "Yeah, Everest."

I don't recommend people because you're onto a hiding to nothing.  If they turn out good then you don't get a thank-you and if they turn out bad you get: "Why did you recommend him?"

I was thinking do you know of a good... too.

However when people ask me i have no idea.

So got me thinking of setting up a franchise for each trade :D One day maybe  ;)
