hi guys i use a prochem stempro 2000 power max which has 100 psi.i was thinking to upgrade the pump to 400-500 psi for the next service or if goes wrong .are there any technical issues that i should consider or it's just doesn't matter in performance of other machines components.thank you

hi it has 2x3stage bypass vacuums .will that cope with the pressure ?
i think the 500 psi version of prochem portables uses the same size vacuums

I doubt a 500psi pump would fit in a powermax it would be to big.

Are your solution hoses and associated equipment able to cope with the extra PSI?

Mine wasn't!

It's definately worth having the extra PSI though!

more importantly, the electrics inside the machine may well be rated too low to handle the extra current, if it'll even fit inside.  Also your mains cable may exceed its current draw with the bigger pump.  A Shurflo 135psi pump draws 0.9 amps, I'd like to bet that a pump of the size you're talking draws considerably more.

Another factor is the internal plumbing of the machine.  it's probably got low pressure fittings/hoses etc inside it.  That's a nasty mess waiting to happen when it gets 400psi shot up its backside!

Scrap the idea and get a machine with that sort of pump inside it as standard.

ive no idea about pumps and currents and stuff like that, but i'd liken this to upgrading a PC. whether its a processor upgrade or new motherboard, bigger hard drive or more RAM. all you do is create problems cos as you upgrade one item, the other items don't work well with it. i stopped adding bits to PC's a long time ago, now i just sell and buy a better one. maybe this is what you should do.
just a thought.
