SOME STATISTIC I READ SOMEWHERE SAYS THAT FROM LEAFLET DROPS YOU GET THREE CUSTOMERS IN 1000 DROPS, AND FROM MEETING PEOPLE, INTRODUCTION ,ETC YOU GET TWO TO THREE IN 10.

i read 1 in every 100 leaflets dropped    so unless your going to deliver at least 10,000  your better off knocking doors

If you want customers, you need to be knocking, leaving leaflets for those not in AND telling people.

Leaflet drops only work when its 5 - 10 thousand.

People see leaflets and don't ring, only the ones who truly want a window cleaner ring. The rest put it in a drawer cos they think they will remember another day. 99% don't remember.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

If i pick up a new house in a nice area, i usualy flyer the surrounding houses. I always knock, make it short and simple "hi just a local window cleaner, we've just picked up a new house here and just leaving a leaflet, thank you" hand over leaflet. You do get alot of "ok thank you" but at least theyve met you.

you can drop 10,000 leaflets , but if you don't call back you won't get custys i always call back within 2 days otherwise people won't call you its leaflet and your a stranger people like to meet face to face so they can get a measure of you

My whole roundwas built using leaflets and no canvassing..reason...just moved to Holland and my Dutch was not that good...so leaflets alone...

I have found that >0.5% is about my average return from leaflets...

If you use leaflets alone...you'll need to post tens of thousands...not hundreds...

But hey everyone has different experiances...

Cheers
Dave.

hi ajs, is it that you don't fancy knocking doors, I don't fancy it much either, but it does seem the best way to get a lot of customers fast, if your ok with getting customers at a very slow rate then delivering leaflets seems ok, I've not even got any equipment yet so I'm no expert, just what i've picked up over the last few weeks on here.

I know a lot of the guys on here don't reccomend it but if you don't want to knock doors, what about getting one of the door knocking companys in, if you need a lot of work fast that is, or better still get someone in your family etc to do it for you, did read on here that women door knocking get better results?!

If your delivering leaflets I'd make sure I was putting the price for each house on the leaflet so they know what to expect, i'd be more likely to ring you if I new how much it was going to cost me, rather than ringing for a quote.

When we moved into our new house one of the local window cleaners simply put one of his invoice slips through the door, saying ' I can clean your windows for X amount, if you want them done give me a ring', at first the wife thought he'd cleaned them and now wanted paying, until she actually read it! but it would have worked, cos it made her look at it and if I weren't planning on doing it myself she'd have rung him.

Also I think if you have a website where people can book you to do their windows it might help, people can't be bothered with ringing people, but spend ages on this here t'internet so might book you online if they could???

good luck
