Quick thought ......

Now im a few bob short or affording to buy a gutter vac or similar (well im skint pretty much)

What are peoples thoughts on various angle adaptors....

1) the spike as seen above
2) one with something to push rubbish along
3) another to scoop it out ( like a trowel )

Would this do the job ?

Thoughts and suggestions for those of us who cant afford the gutter vac but want to get into the gutter cleaning safely :)

when i used to go gutters ( i cannot be arsed now ) i used to use a pole with a scoop on the end, climb the ladder on the end and push all the stuff to the middle, climb the ladder again on the other end and do the same, then climb at the middle to scoop all the stuff out into a bucket

3 ladder climbs per side, it worked very well for me

Reckon it could be done the way i mentioned Matt ?

Highest i go up is step ladders for obvious safety reasons

i tried it with a scoop ( infact it was why i purchased the scoop ) i found it worked to a degree, but i wasnt 100 % happy with the results

Put yourself in my position.... not enough for the vac and a few customers have asked about it. Would it be professional of me to do it the way i suggested ? Obviously i would have to explain to the customer that not 100% of everything would be removed.

There is also the option of fixing a hosepipe to an angle adaptor to flush the left over bits away with one of them twist thingys that you can turn to change from a mist right up to a jet

Spike will only get the plants out, the only real way of doing it is up a ladder (cheap, dangerous but good) or a vac. I tried a scoop that I used from the ground on my pole but with little success. Most gutters are either filled with moss or sandy gloop. Some guys jet wash them out (more expense) but for me it just made a hell of a mess and defeats the object if you are shoving it all down the down pipe.  :-\
Best idea is to find a mate who likes going up a ladder.  ;)

why go up a ladder 3 times per side i just put the ladder up the middle and pull all the rubbish back to the middle.
