Hi guys,  does any one use a xtel pole and if you do ,what are they like? I have just orderd one it's a 24 ft one, please let me know if you get on with these type of pole.....thanks  Barry...

Barry they are ok, not the lightest and certainly not the the stiffest of poles, I have the 24ft xtel pole from Purefreedom, I use it on a daily basis, but wish I had the 17ft.

its an ok pole at best , whippy and wears out quick , clamps are good though regards alan

They are light and cheap which is probably why they are the best selling pole in the UK. Personally I would not use one over 17ft as in fibre glass they are not overly rigid. In hybrid form I would use the 24ft and in Carbon I would use the 28ft. Several of my colleagues use the 13ft version as it is very light and one of them uses the 17ft version. I do not use them at all as I prefer maximum rigidity.

I have used one for about 2 years now. as already said, light and cheap but you do need to replace sections etc after a while. replaced a few different sections in last year - just depends how hard you are working!

Hi mate.

I use the hybrid; can't think of the length off hand but it reaches four stories easily.

Now, not having ever used a carbon pole I can't compare it with anything but after two years of using the same pole I've had to replace a total of ....... zilch

That's using the pole at least five days per week, weather allowing, for most of my work. Mine is fitted with a gooseneck brush and the yellow hose runs through it.

I can happily use it all day, at all lengths and for the money I can recommend it.

Buy a 17', use the 24' when you need too.Factor in step ladders and ladders and this combo will do most jobs

barry just remove the sections you dont need? it only takes minutes to remove them, am amazed at the amount of xtel pole owners who dont know this, mind you it was nearly 8 months before i found out myself we could do this

Not a good idea on the hybrid as the first section is Glass fibre so this section protects from electric shock.

I used an excel 30ft for everything........used it for months.

It is a little whippy but I used that to my advantage on the glass.

Good pole in my op.

Gave it a good clean weekly and always ran a rag over the tubbing whenever it was extended. Just now showing signs of ware.

Bought an 18ft brodex hydra pole to replace......I feel like I have wings now!! So So much lighter.

Next pole will be a gardiners for ridgidity.... 35ft

I've always used excel, Xtel or whatever you want to call them. Good cheap and virtually disposable. Change a section if you want to or just buy another pole once a year.

Most simplistic clamps about. Good value for money pole. I use one on all my low work a lot of the time as it's reliable and quick to extend and collapse.

i use a 24ft er with a superlite brush on the end makes a bit of a difference weight wise.
