I doubt a 60 psi pump will cope with 2 hose reels and 2 pumps. Have you tried using a backpack, you can pick them up for £100 now, plus you will have it if you need to take anyone on in the future.

We used to have a 60psi pump and two reels carrying 50m of 12.5mm hose. That worked perfectly but I can't imagine it would work with smaller bore hose. I'd imagine you'd need a 100psi pump; not sure that'd work with 2 small bore hoses though. ???

The 60 psi will not run 2 x 100m of microbore hose. The answer lies in your 100psi Flojet, this will very easily run 2 x 100m of microbore as this is how we have run our vehicles for years. Generally there is no need for an electronic controller either, just tune the pressure switch to match the set-up ( http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/What_pressure_delivery_pump_will_I_need_.html )

Well i have a 100psi flojet pump on my trolley and it struggles with two microbore lines of 50 metres... No offence Alex, but have you actually tried this yourself?

Don't forget flow and pressure are 2 separate things and pumps differ slightly, I'd rather have a high flow rate than be able to knock a parrot of its perch from 10 yards ;D

They maybe different, but you cant have one without the other, thats a fact.
you need pressure to make the water flow, and its the flow (whether its a pushing or pulling force) that creates pressure.

you cant have high pressure without a suitable flow, but flow can be restricted by the bore of the supply, so I'm assuming pumps with a higher flow rate will provide better for a 2 man van ;)

As I have highlighted above from my original comment, yes.  My van is currently set up with one 100psi Flojet and two 100 metre reels of hose.  I always work with two operatives.  I would imagine that you have a different model Flojet pump.  Whilst the pressure switch may be a 100psi, the flow rate on some of the smaller Flojet pumps may not be up to coping with my set up.

Alex, what happens when one pole is disconnected? Does the other pole get a blast of water?

No.  The flow does increase when only using one but because you are using 100 metres of microbore, it's still very usable.

I did this last year,

but because i also used 100 metres of micro on one reel ..... and 60 on another....the flow rates were different, the punp had to be turned up, as one had a good flow and one a weak flow of water,

so you definitely need equal amounts of hose.
