what would you say is the most effective canvassing method for my friend?


What price would you charge for a detached house cleaned once a month?

No disrespect intended here Platinum. If you have bought all your work, and asuming you have been in this malarky more than a couple of months, why can't you work out what a 3 bed semi price in "your friends" area should be?

If you have bought all your work, what would you charge? Or don't you get any new work at all?

I may have missed something, so I'm not having a crack at you mate, just abit suprised by your question is all.

Cozy - I bought my work and charged new customers according to the prices on the round however i keep reading on here how some of you charge a minimum of £10 per house where i normally charge around £5-£8 for the full house.

I was just asking what your prices were so he can try and get the most profit from his efforts especially as some of you are charging £10 and upwards

£2.50 multiplied by the length of a piece of string.

£2.50? I always use the ol' diddly-dum, scratch my chin whilst inahaling deeply with a pained expression on my face; which is usually equivalent to £3.17 times the number of sweetbreads in any Dorset Butchers on any day ending in the letter 'y'

Price wise varies between areas... So can't help on that one.

As for the best canvasing method... A woman I reckon (even better if its the window cleaners wife).

My wife does some knocking for me (well she has done quite a bit bless her). She can go out for a couple of hours and come back with 15 quotes. If I'm knocking ill ask if they need a window cleaner. If they say no or no I have one I politely offer them a leaflet with my services on and ask if they know of anyone who does, could they pass my leaflet on.

I've picked up quite a few from this method. Both regular cleans from there friends or the people who said no want another of my services that their window cleaner doesn't offer.

I did a conservatory roof yesterday for a couple who had a window cleaner already. They were really happy and said they would reccomend me to all of there friends.

When out knocking, leave a leaflet at the ones that are not it... You never know. Oh and the best thing I can reccomend is.... Smile and be polite.

just remember your areas st helens and wigan areas you wont get them prices on your avarage type work no way

Not been in St helens but where i was in wigan was awful mainly because theyd been paying 5 a house for so long, and i didnt wanna rock the boat too much so sold on, i reckon if i doubled it though i wouldnt of lost out as 50% wouldnt of cancelled and id have had same work for half the time

But just sold instead so someone else could have the headache!!
