I have been asked to provide a price for some kit and a website i have but have no idea what to ask.Pricing the equipment isnt too hard but the website that goes with it is owned by my girlfriend and is on swindonweb site who put it together for me.The site is www.drycleancarpets.co.uk and yes that bloke is me in the picture   Any ideas guys      Regards Alan(swindon)

A difficult call really, depends how much the other party wants it and how keen you are to sell.

It's a good domain name . although not really pushed at present.

I have dry carpet cleaners and cleaning which do get reasonable hits, so it is definitely worth a decent amount.

Doug  i will only sell it if the collective package is going to move me forward with my game plan.Really looking to upgrade to a v.good truckmount around october time but will still be doing drycleaning as it works well with my mattress cleaning offer for allergy sufferers etc.There is definitely more scope for dry than there was  a few years ago but would i be better off putting most of my resources into what is my main source of income good old hwe(or steam to the punters) .Still dont know if that makes it £100 or £1000 for the site though .I am starting to confuse myself so i better go and drink some beer to clear my head.Regards Alan

When you say.. "I have been asked to provide a price for some kit and a website.." does that mean you selling the Host machine?
If it is, then my advice is to keep it. You will benefit from this even with a TM. Its good to be ble to lift the pile so you can deep clean.
Sorry if you already knew that, but am concerned you selling a good piece of kit that will continue to help you earn good money.

Joe thats very true but while it came into its own on the hotel contract i have it isnt as flexible as the flexi 5 which does the drycleaning side along with being more suitable(easier to use) in a domestic situation.It has been given some excellent reviews on here as an agitator too.At the moment  the kit i would like to have is a v.good truckmount,flexi 5 and damn good blower then add as required  .Regards Alan

Not that I am very experienced with the Host (restricted to a demo by the rep) nor the Flexi 5 (used it to agitate a rug I cleaned when picking up my Prowler) I dont particularly see a great difference between them [except new the Flexi 5 is less then the Host]. As you have the Host I dont see why you want to change to the Flexi 5 unless you can get new Flexi 5 money for a 2nd hand Host.  But maybe you see the Flexi 5 doing something different.

Joe host freestyle is great in big areas but not so useable in occupied houses.The flexi 5 aggitates v.well and is more suitable for my future needs.Looks dudey too   Regards Alan

Whilst I'm sure you would get a good price for  www.weightloss.com the value in a domain is actually more to do with the traffic it generates and how much dosh it earns. You would probably get a multiple of generated sales if you can show them. Otherwise not much cop.

Alan, the thing about the dry carpet cleaning websites is that you can often persuade the customer to go for HWE, if that is better for them. That site address is a good one and in my view worth at least 4 figures.

The are asking for dry because they don't want it wet for days !

I wouldn't sell websites at present because they are the future and the price would need to take account of this.
