The tank'll be 5' from front to back, 4' across and 2.5' high.

Im thinking the 5' from front to back will make it quite impressive, a real sense of depth and distance.

Matt you could have said you knew about fish.My sons nine and i killed all the fish we bought with ro water.

I did tell the shop and they said fine, purer the better.Waited a week, bought fish, fish all died.

shop tested water, made me refill with tap, this is week two, last week water failed test. This morning we go again to test water and buy fish. He wants three mickey mouse and two of the other sort.(litttle tough ones)

Clive I know about most things  :D

Clive, you need to read up on fish-keeping if you are going to keep fish.

Its cruel and unethical to try to keep fish without first gaining some sort of background material on their needs.

Go here if they are cold water or tropical

Did you local fish shop not tell you about this?

Go here if the fish are marine

As for the shops....they'll sell you anything to get a sale and they normally employ dunderheads, so unbiased information and knowledge isnt their greatest asset.

Ask those with no alterior motive (other fish keepers on forums)

Id say your fish died because they were put in pure RO water and it hadnt been reconstituted back to some sort of state suitable for fish to thrive in. Bit like expecting us to thrive in a place like Chernobyl really.
