After speaking to Ionics and reading posts on here, if your float gets stuck and you disconect it and just join the wires the fill switch won't turn off will it? so is their any way round this or do just have to be around when the tank is full to turn the switch off?

Buy a replacement , they are less than £20.
I know Ionics sell them as do Gardiners.
