Embarrassed Customer
« on: June 17, 2009, 07:36:24 pm »
Hi all,
I had a call from an elderly lady customer who said that she was very embarrassed to say, but she had an 'accident'  :P on her bedroom carpet, (haven't we all)? :o

Her cleaning ladies had tried to clean it up but the stain was still visible.

I went over a few days later and advised her that with a wool mix carpet, the stain, given it's contents, could now be damage, but would give it a go.

I did an extraction clean and explained that although the stain was not so obvious, it was still visible.

Tonight she's left a message to say that the stain is still visible,(which is what I told her) and her cleaners said to ring me and ask to have another go.

Before I ring her back tomorrow I thought I'd just ask for any 'tried and tested' tips...apart from cahnging our phone number  ;D

Thanks in advance

Les

You need to find out what the ladys cleaners tried prior to your first visit, bet they reached for the vanish, 1001.
I would apply plenty of FF "HOT" leave for 15 mins then extract. If the cleaners have used the above i wouldnt bother going back.

I would go for either sodium met or coffee stain remover form chemspec which has sod met in it.

Thanks guys.

I'll ring her tomorrow.

I know the cleaning ladies involved and I'm sure that they did use Vanish or 1001, but when you suggest that this might've caused a problem it sounds as if you're making excuses for the fact that the stain wasn't completely removed. ::)

I'll probably attend once more armed with your suggestions but without making any promises of success.

Les,

I think we all know that stain isn't coming out mate :(

I find the best approach to these jobs is to play down the aspect of visual appearance.  Make it less important than the other two ways you GUARANTEE to make an improvement -  cleanliness and odour removal.  A good sanitiser and effectively combating the odour is attainable on almost all urine contaminations.

Two out of three ain't bad, so if you manage to get the stain out too it's a sweet little bonus.

I quote a decent price for this, if they don't go for it I either negotiate a lesser service for lesser money with no guarantees, or I walk :)

Hi Les

I clean a lot of nursing homes so come across this a lot, the only time we get called out outside of scheduled cleaning is when they have hit spills and stains with everything under the sink and failed. What I use now pretty much all the time for this is Texatherm Bio Trax, spray on leave 20 -30 minutes depending on size and severity and then rinse extract with low heat (under 55c) then I use their CBT remover if there is a hint of colour still visible. Product are not the best for all stains but for this type it's the best i have found.

Rich
