WFP how fast?
« on: June 13, 2009, 11:01:03 am »
Hi guys,

I've been given a job that I have sub'd out to a firm I helped to sart up about 5 years ago. It's an indoor riding hall (horsey horsey) and they need it doing by next Friday. I don't want to do it and don't really have the time as I am abit behind on 1 of my areas.

Anyway, it's 600 sqr meters and trad it would take me at least 14 man hours to complete. Glas only, no frames, as you can see from the pics, it's all ladder work.

My question is, how long would this take you WFP guys? It's inside and outside, inside the hall is earth floor so you can WFP inside too.

The job is 670 quid plus VAT by the way.

Hi Jeff, I think you've misunderstood. I just wanted to know, how long it would take with WFP. By the way I'm in Germany :)

I reckon half a day would do it, providing I'm looking at it right. Two sides and two ends; is that right?

Easy access by the looks of it, no high work, yep, half a day would cover it easily enough. Why aren't the frames cleaned by the way?

I guess now someone will say it'll take them an hour and a half and someone will say two weeks ........ I love this site!!

From what I can see in the pictures a conservative guess WFP ", about 3hrs inside & out.

P.S IF the centre was in Bristol I'd sub it from you for that price.  :)

Yes, that's right.
They only have the frames cleaned once a year.

3 hours, might stretch to 4. Doubt it though. Theyre hardly going to need a kosher domestic clean. So 3.

EDIT: 3, theres only glass down one of the sides.

I agree - three to four hours.

At £670 that's £167.50 to £233.33 per hour :o :o :o

Don't forget taxmen look at these forums ::)

Yes Ian, but you have to register for VAT and tax here from day 1, whether or not your turnover is 5 or 50000 a year.Gestopo changed it's name in May 1945 to TAX INSPECTORS!

These answers are the reason for me wanting to go WFP. TBH though, I can't charge the prices I do and finish the job in 4 hours. Hardly any boxheads use WFP here, none use it on domestic as the standard the German custies expect leaves no room for error. Apart from that, you don't need ladders on domestic as all windows are cleaned in and out and open inwards.

I just thought I could build a nice niche for myself doing riding halls like that. I recon ze Germans will pay 300 and not moan if I finish the job in under 4/5 hours. The WFP setup would pay for itself in 4 or 5 jobs.If this job took 6 hours as I work slower if I'm new to WFP, at 300 it's not a bad price. There are lots of these halls all over the place near me. As you can imagine, trad is a pain in the gearbox. 14 hours I recon, and all ladder work, now you can see why I sub'd it out.

Cozy if that jobs is 2x Sides and 2x ends both in and out inc frames...I reckon that you would need around 4 to 5 hours hours to do it all and that price is really good!!

Were the same here...all work attracts 19% VAT.

Cheers
Dave.

ps make sure they don't use the hall for a good couple of hours as all the dust kicked up by the horses would stick like *(&& to a blanket!! ;D

I think 4 to 5 hours, i'm surprised at some who said three (ian). With wfp you do have to get the frames (the ledges at least) clean or dirty water runs down off them.

14 hours trad???? you avin a larf?

I'd knock the outsides out b4 lunch and insides b4 3pm trad. thats ith frames, I dont clean windows without doing the frames!

as for WFP 2-3 hours depending how many fly spots there are.
