Hi guys

I have to agree with most of you , I have had my two ninja for the past 7 years, the actual machine is a great one, because I have tried different portys prior to that, but Ashbys have to change some of their attitude towards  their customers, I also had problem with their services too.

I've run ninjas for years, but never the all-singing all dancing ones with the bells and whistles attached.  You pour water in, it heats it, pumps it out and sucks it back.  Simples!  Rarely had a breakdown and never had a machine offline for more than 24 hours.

I think the stumbling block is ashbys trying to make them more than they are - a twin vac machine that will heat water fairly hot, pump it at a modest pressure/flow rate and suck it back pretty well from up to 50ft away.  Adding the extra gadgets is just more scope to go wrong.  If you want higher vac, heat and pressure, auto fill and pump out.....get a truckmount and be done with it for heaven's sake.  A porty is a porty.

I rarely have to take my machine upstairs or steps as I have plenty of hose (Fnar Fnar). But when I do have I make sure I've had 3 Weetabix The Exel's a heavy bugger so I'm looking forward to building my shoulders up even more with the Alltec TV when it arrives in a couple of weeks time.....

I've done a few second floor flats with a ninja, dragged it up the stairs... not fun!  But it's do-able, going backwards and taking it easy, the centre of gravity is good and there's a knack which you find easy once you've got it.

Probably a few times a week I'll have to negotiate a small set of steps, like 2 or 3 at a time, and I don't find it a problem.  Mind you I'm 6'2" and not a weakling, maybe it's different for others

it will be interesting col to hear your feedback on how the alltec negotiates stairs looks a little awkward just from the way it looks . it looks like a lot of weight on the front end. but with that much suck doubt you will have to take it up much.

you goin to run all 2inch hoses from it or have a whip hose to make it more manouverable

Dunno what I'm going to do, I was going to run a whip hose but I'll play around first and see if the manoeuvrability will make things difficult and if the results are worth it. If the TV is too heavy then I'll use the Exel if there's an issue with steps/stairs!

I've got used to using the Scrubba now too, so I'll probably carry on using that if I can get away with putting 200 psi through it This will mean using a whip in that case.

Coln you will find most jobs you can manage with your hoses and leaving the machine outside..


Did you order a reducer hose at the end i also got a small reducer tube to go on the end of the 2"hose extension so it would fit on my wand if i didnt want to use the whip hose.

Am sure you will be fine with it.

I told them I needed a reducer so I can only assume they're sending one... I leave my Exel outside, keeps those motors cool. I'm itching to get my machine Clinton, I think I'm looking at 2 and a half weeks now....

The reducer is handy just dont loose it lol or leave it got another myself just in case

You will find the dif with the larger hoses and its so quiet and like most stuf from alltec it lasts 

Looks like your a big guy like me so wont have trouble if you ever have to lift it

I have a length of whip hose for most jobs, but when it's a big open area I just use a reducing cuff to 1.5. When I do this I'm using the super flexible hose that solutions sell, I wouldn't do it with the standard HM hose.

I`ve got a ninja 400 psi which I bought from Ashby`s a few years back. The very first job I did with it, the pump had water pouring out of it. Phoned up Ashbys and they said send it back by courier and they will sort it. Only problem was, they wanted me to pay the courier £50 each way. When they got it, the two back wheels where damaged by the courier and I got billed for that to!! They said i hadnt packed it properly. Anyway, last thing I ever bought from them.
Their new truckmount looks nice but because of the service I`ve had from them in the past, U wouldn`t even consider buying one from them. Shame cos Derek is a really nice bloke but the family have absolutely no odea of customer service.
