Success and Thanks
« on: June 04, 2009, 09:58:05 pm »
Just got my very first ro unit up and running.............with 000 TDS (at the moment) and pure water into my water butt. One small step for me  ;D

Thanks for all the help and advice I received with regards to equipment and set up etc...

...............just one small snag, was giving the unit its first flush to get rid of carbon deposits etc.....and it er??? overflowed and nearly submerged the extension block that the pump was plugged into.............result being, blew the whole house, lights out, tv off, pc off...............er?? and red face. Lesson 1 to self: Make sure plug is higher than water........lol
If Carlsberg made window cleaners....I'd be one of them....lol

Can't you get a floatvalve with shutoff manifold? Most RO suppliers to them. I've got one in my tank.

Fieldsy time how long it takes to fill 1 litre then work out the hourly rate.
if it takes 10 hours to fill put it on fill at 9pm and leave it on over night, then when you get up at 7 the tank should be full lol
I was late putting my tank on fill tonight  :(

Although this works some times other you get back and water will be all over the place or other way not enough, higly annoying either way.

I had solinoid cut off and it kiiled a £200 pump dead, so now it is wash the floor worst case  a load cheaper:-\

Dam Ian, thats bad.
What do you think to selanoids for cutting the water off on the hose, so when you turn off the controller the water shuts off straight away.

are we talking on your system or your out side tap ?

I have a plan for my next one so they are all on timers, pump out first then shut water down, flush, then a timer per day on them all, check once a day visual:time saving 15 mins a day  ;D anyone want to have a helping hand in this ?

Defo the best solution, there is no way it can malfunction.
