« on: May 22, 2009, 12:39:41 pm »
Hi guys,

Got to do a quote for a friend of my wifes business. Its a beauty / health spa place. Have taken pictures of the four sides. Not sure on the frequency of the job yet. But having never quoted for commercial before i was wondering if you guys could shed some light.

Do i put a price in for monthly, 2 monthly & 3 monthly ?

£45 monthly - first clean should take about an hour to make sure they are spotless, make sure you concentrate on top of the frames and rinse well. After that you should be about 30 mins from pulling up to pulling away.
Make sure you got some warning cones to put in front of doors. I got some good heavy ones from window cleaning warehouse.

Good luck with the quote

It's just like cleaning a big house, no access problems, no difficult windows, very, very easy.

I think I counted 21 windows / doors, etc; you wouldn't get £50 where I live, more like £30.

Good luck with it mate; it looks a nice easy earner  :)

yea wat makes this so different from a residential job? when i counted it up i would charge £25 for that.

realistically how long do you think it would take?? no more than an hour and a half?

Thanks for the replys guys.

Some of you need to fill in your area details as it varys from area to area.

Its out of the area i cover. But my wife runs a networking club that is held there and i drop her off, so its not out of my way if you know what i mean.

Think i'll throw in a quote of £25 monthly or £35 bi-monthly as i would like to get the job. The owner was at the networking club and heard a testimonial from another member about how fussy her husband was and that he was REALLY impressed with the windows (i cleaned them in the rain too ;D)

Alot of people go in and out of there doors, so could lead to more work. There are also more buildings similar on the same estate, with more going up and a housing estate being built there too.

Has anyone got a quote template they use for commercial quotes ? Its a very nice place and would like to send in a proffesional looking quote.

Thanks people

You help & advice has been very helpful  :)

p.s. - theres the insides too, but wanted a quote on just the outside first

I would quote

Exterior €60.00
Interior & exterior €110.00
Gutter soffit & fascia €200.00

I would recommend Monthly exterior, interior quarterly and gsf annually.

€1360.00 pa discounted to €1200 if paid by standing order @ €100 per month.

you should call and find out how often they want them done.
external
I would go £30 per clean for monthly or more often.
less often then add 20% for bi monthly
and 40% for quarterly might even go with a policy of £50 minimum on all quarterly work.

internal
if access to the windows is ok then £30 per clean

and chance your arm for free membership aswell ;D ;D ;D

I know where this is and could quite easily quote myself - If you go in at £50 for the external they will find someone else ;) I would charge £30 monthly for the outside only as I know that place could be cleaned in 30 mins easy £50 is taking the mick a bit, remember usually commercial clients will get more than one quote, you need the work and that if they were given a testimonial at a network meeting then the chances are that this client could do the same. I would rather charge £30 and then pick up another say 3 similar jobs than go in at £50 not get the work and miss out on that chance.

ST1Allstar, GWCS and WCE are trying to tell you something here. You have given too much information on your post and have left it wide open for the work to be targeted. If anyone one of them were mercenary enough there is enough info in that picture for them to go and chance their arm.

What your picture tells me is that here is a commercial building that is in the market for a window cleaner and you've given everyone the address and details.

That is also not a million miles away from me, Gary at landywood might be interested - just down the road from him and I am sure there are countless others on here who might now be eyeing the job up.

Get in there quick and put the best price in.

Good luck

Rob ;D

I don't live anywhere near there, but I might send a written quotation in, secure the contract, then sub it out or sell it to a local!

Only kidding!  :P :P :P

Depends on your normal hourly rate really.
If it's done at a reasonable frequency, once the first one or two cleans are done, you will be able to get around that in half an hour.  Maybe view it as three quarters of an hour if you want to be sure you don't under quote but half hour should be enough.
However, if it's very infrequent, you may want to view it as getting near first clean territory each time and quote accordingly.
I would rather say time than money because everyone has different expectations of what to turn over per hour.
