Bentley brushes
« on: May 20, 2009, 07:31:32 pm »
Hello all,
I have bought 2 bentley brushes 1 with 2 jets and 1 with 4. The water is dribbling out of the jets, but it's fine on my standard vikan brushes. Any ideas?

Cheers Jason.

What size jets have you had fitted? 1mm, 2mm, 3mm or 4mm?

It could be that your jets are too large for your flow rate. Is the 4 jet brush worse than the 2 jet brush?

Haven't got a clue Alex, I was told to change from 6mm micro bore to 8mm but it's made no difference.
Ps are you doing a hot add on yet?
Thanks Jason.

Can you post up a photo of the underside of the brush so that we can have a look at the jet size?

We're not doing a hot add on yet...............

The jet picture is a bit blurry.  Have you any way of measuring the diameter of the jet hole?

Looks like 2 mm jets. With 4 jets as opposed to 2 1mm jets there will naturally be less water spouting out the jets. need to compensate and turn your water flow up a lot more, won't travel out as far but you'll have enough water if you have a high flow pump (lpm).

You don`t have enough pressure and the jet hoses are to thick which won`t help with that either, you don`t need 4 jets anyway if you ask me you just need a good flow rate and a super lite brush those brushes don`t last 5 mins.

Just measured the jets and they are 2mm the same as all my vikan brushes.

Are they the same size on the 2 jet brush?  The fact that you've got 4 jets probably explains the decrease in flow rate, unless of course your 2 jet brush head has the same flow rate and has the same size jets!  If this is the case, then I'm puzzled.

I've just noticed that the y connectors on the bentley are smaller than the ones on the vikans but they all have the same size pole hose ?

Cheers again

(Ref: the photo of the brush with 4 jets fitted).

The pole hose along with the 'Y' piece connections is set up all wrong if you want to add a swivel neck to the brush head at a later time as it won't allow for swivelling freely.

This is how the brush was sent from the supplier.

I agree. Get rid of the brush and get a better one. Alternatively, keep a good eye on the windows, cos 1 day it just will not scrub anymore.
Oh and get the vikan out or something else for 1st cleans, it's deficiency will take longer to notice on just maintenance cleans.
