Simon is right, and because of that you'll find there is very little difference in the price of the policy - so you may as well get the £5m

It's not about the amount of damage you may do, it's about the H&S requirements of some Companies.  The total value of the contract usually dictates how much your PL insurance should be, and if you don't meet the requirement you could be in breach of contract, if discovered you can be struck off as an approved contractor.

2 or 5 million pounds the price difference between the two is peanuts so you might aswell go for 5 million as the larger companys prefer this.

I've got £5m with Axa and I only do residential. Costs me £8.18 a month. I've got a few houses which I reckon would go for £1m ish so I'd have to demolish them completely...not an easy thing to do with a squeegee and sponge
