Hi,I am starting up as a carpet cleaner and have done the prochem course, but would also like to get some practical experience.
Anywhere in south /east /west london would be great.
For 4 days from the 3-6th of may.
I just want to learn from the best.
Can you help?
Kind regards   Peter

Peter, I live miles away but if you were local to me I would'nt be too keen on you tagging along for 4 days, perhaps if you ask 2 or 3 different companies to go with then for 1 or 2 days they may be more offers.

Also you might have to travel out of your own area to get offers, no one wants to train someone who would be in direct competition with themselves.

at the moment you are an anonimous person from London, nobody will risk offering you work experiance, you need to sell yourself to us ;) let us know what a great person you are :)

who knows if you do a good job I might send you the train fare and invite you up north

Hi Peter

You may find the CC's on this site a bit aprehensive, due to someone who recently abused the help of a fellow CC

But good luck anyway!!

Hi guys
I do not want anyones clients ,I am a man of my word and all I want is to learn from someone who can teach me the best way to clean carpets.
I would not do anything to risk the wrath of the carpet industry or anyone ,as I would not want it done to me.I just want to be able to do the best job I can do.
I am setting up around the twickenham area if that helps.
kind regards Peter

Your idea is fine, in theory, but unlikely to prove successful as people are protective of their territory.

I have previously assisted two young lads set up with on the job training, advice on chemicals and machinery, BUT, THEY WERE BUYING A MACHINE FROM ME!!!

In other words, there was a benefit to me in helping them, however, that was three years ago and within the Glasgow area with a catchment of only, around 2.5 million

They have a successful business and I have never yet come accross them business wise, but have sent afew jobs their way when unable to do them myself.

The other side, of the coin however, is the guy who worked for me for a year and constantly stated his wish to purchase my business when I decided to quit, which, due to severe problems with arthritis, sciatica etc, was my intention.
When I made the offer, he suddenly found he'd no money, but, decided to quit - mid November - and within a week was advertising in the same newspaper.

So, if you find c/c's in your area apprehensive, they may have had similar experiences to mine.

Anyway, good luck.

If you can work to a high standard and that's not necessarily what you see as a high standard, you will succeed. Unfortunately, if you work to a poor standard you might make more money, depends on your personal  code of ethics
