Nissan Vannette - any thoughts?
« on: April 19, 2005, 07:45:01 pm »
Hi - been thinking about van and WFP system and wanted to know if anyone had an opinion on the Nissan Vannette - After visiting the Nissan dealer today and managing not to laugh, in a frightened sort of way, when told of the 14 grand price tag of the Primastar, I rushed to the comfort of a local van sellers website.
There are a few v low mileage dealer history vannettes for around 3 to 4 grand x y reg etc.
I thought the idea of double sliding doors might be handy.
Does anyone have one or know much about how sutiable they might be for a modest van mounted system with roof rails for ladders.

Also just watched the new pope, Benedict 16th, on the balcony and couldn't help noticing the windows behind him. What size squeegee or maybe just the Unger microwipe...Does anyone else feel like they start to become like the Micahel Palin Yorkshireman obsessed with shovels, from the Ripping Yarns tales :-\

I looked at vannette..........only any good if you dont need to much water. For a 700ltr tank, poles ladderrs you need a payload of 1000kg a vannette isnt no where near.Bbut is ok for about 250 ltr.

I don't see houses or buildings either.

I see windows surrounded by walls and structures.

With regards the Vannette, I know this may not be of much help but we were speaking to a plumber today who has one and when I asked him is the van any good he went on for about 20 minutes just how good it was.

Cheers

thanks for your advice - been looking around a bit more and going to go for something a little bigger (know what you mean about payload now) they are a good little van but just a teensy bit too small - so it's the merc vito or toyota whatchamacallit

Cheers
