« on: April 18, 2005, 10:42:19 am »
hi,anyone been to http://d.co.uk and made this system if so i wondered if you could answer some questions  on it:
1) how long does water in barrel last , how many 3 bed semi's could you do all-round before refill?
2) how many 25 ltr containers do you have with you?
3) I have a ford escort van would this be sufficient?
4)how many cleans to get a good result?
5) how did your customers take to your new way of working?
6) did you have to put prices up?
7) did you lose any custom when changed over?
8) did you find it easy enough to get to grips with using poles did you need training?
Sorry to bombard all these questions but i found  the  site very intresting. Lee_dewing@hotmail.co.uk

hi,anyone been to http://d.co.uk and made this system if so i wondered if you could answer some questions  on it:

will answer then in BOLD, YES its my build, and i am well happy with it (the site only went LIVE on the weekend, Hope you dont mind if i move the questions to the forum aswell, that way others can read it and learn :)

1) how long does water in barrel last , how many 3 bed semi's could you do all-round before refill?

i do 4 3 bed semi's Just the upstairs, still do it the old fashioned way downstairs, i did this for a number of reason, it breaks the customer in alittle gentley :), i use my estate car and i only carry 6 barrels of water a day

2) how many 25 ltr containers do you have with you?

See above 6 Barrels

3) I have a ford escort van would this be sufficient?

Yes, i use a passat estate car

4)how many cleans to get a good result?

I did after the 2nd clean, still get a odd run from under the ruber seals on the older UPVC windows, BUT not had a serious complaint yet

5) how did your customers take to your new way of working?

MOST were fine, as i said above, i only do the tops, so its a little easier, i just use the WAHD and my own health and saftey as reasons:)

6) did you have to put prices up?

Nope, though many expect it, i kept them the same

7) did you lose any custom when changed over?

Nope, not 1

8) did you find it easy enough to get to grips with using poles did you need training?

Nope, a bit of practise on your own house and family members should do the trick, though i got straight into it, more of a time problem, i had just picked up a 2nd storey customer, fairly big, so time didnt allow me to practise

Sorry to bombard all these questions but i found  the  site very intresting. Lee_dewing@hotmail.co.uk
