Conservatory cleaning tools... whatdo you use ?
« on: May 04, 2009, 12:39:37 am »
Have done about 6-7 conservatory roofs now. Im getting considerably quicker at it now, but wondered what you guys use when cleaning a conservatory roof ? Might be something i could invest in to speedthe process up a little more.

Oh and does anyone use conservatory roof ladders? Am thinking of offering a upvc clean on the external roof, but not too sure about them there ladders.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

Sounds about right. A stiff brush on the end of a long bit of wood is the only other thing. Conservatory ladders are quite good. I have hired one from HSS a couple of times. Why don't you get one out for the weekend and see what you think.

You would only need those ladders if you intend to clean the upvc by hand, in which case you would be looking at a completely different level of pricing.
There is a guy in our town that has 2 vans on the road, specialising in consv roof cleaning and using those ladders. So far I have not heard the kind of price he is charging, but I reckon he is charging a good deal more than £50 a roof.

Ive started using the Ecover truck wash from Gardiners instead of the TFR i used to use. I spray the roof inc the cresting, finial and the gutters, leave for 10 mins, then just wfp and rinse, they all come up a treat, inc glass roofs.

Ecover - sizes, dilutions and prices please? Thanks.

Oh, and what do you spray it with?
It's a game of three halves!

I Use a hand pump sprayer, you can get them in B&Q.
Gardiners only do one size.
