What do you really make from CC?

As I'm a noisy sort of chap and I get asked this question from new guys, post your drawings on average per annum.

Drawings being after all your business expences have been paid and profit set aside.

thanks
Mark

Profit AND drawings - that's novel!  I must be doing something wrong  ;D.  That depends how much drawings / profit you want.

Surely it would have been better to add profit and drawings together.

smp above does have a good point
maybe it should have been profit including , drawnings
we can all take drawnings out of a buisness, well for so long.

What do you mean?

I draw out x per month and set aside y for profit to buy new gear, courses etc.  If theres any left over at the end of the year, after tax then its MINE.

How do you do it?

Hi Mark,

Steve and Daren have a point.

Sale value less costs = profit.

Whatever you draw as your 'wage' comes from that profit so if your poll is to make any valid comparison the total profit should be concidered. Otherwise a cleaner who draws £1,000/week and sets aside £1,000  may enter a smaller sum than one with the same profit but 'pays' himself only £400/week and puts nothing aside for re-investment.

I don't think that this topic as it stands has any value. For myself, I've a relatively low turnover but have low business overheads and miniscule personal ones. e.g. mortgage interest £111 per month and no children at home.

A better question would be "What is your disposable income after all bills and commitments have been met". Do you know what Mark? Yes you are noisy, or even nosey, and I ain't gonna tell ya! Suffice to say, I've got a new bike on order, but gotta wait for June delivery, and yes, I will be paying cash for it ;D

Hi Martin

Glad to hear we've got another biker on the forums. The ZX6R is an awesome tool.

I've fond memories of going to the Bol d'Or at the Paul Ricard Circuit in '97 and there was a lad in our party who had a then new ZX6R. What a stonker it was  :o

As my trusted Divvie has been sold to make way for the Strom-Trooper, I'm bikeless at present, so wont be going to the BMF Show. It doesn't seem right turning up in a car :( But the BMF is THE place to be for kit bargains.

I have spoken to a few other biking colleagues and manufacturers about doing a charity "End to End" for our industry. The feedback has all been positive. Sadly, due to the late arrival of my new bike, it may not now materialise this year. However, if any interested biker out there has a suitable machine capable of allday cruising at motorway/A road speeds, let me know so that I can get an idea of numbers. Also, for you non-bikers and manufacturers and suppliers, who'd be willing to cough up some sponsorship for a good cause? So far, I've only spoken to one manufacturer, and he's as keen as mustard to be involved. Thanks John ;D

Safe and happy cleaning :)

As the weather improves so does my desire for another bike, trouble is the Mrs wont let me, as I would inevitably wind up killing myself  :-[

I have managed to convince her that a motocross bike is completely safe ;D ;D

I meant for this bit!  ;D

Mind you I could have a look down the side of the sofas for loose change and break the padlock on swmbo's purse when she's at work!

Its usually the age and the mobility of the customer that are the main factors when it comes down to how much you earn, for instance if you had only elderly clients you would most probably earn millions in a very short term, bank runs etc.
For example, elderly client on Tuesday morning, lounge carpet £1300.00, 2hrs work, didn't bat an eye lid, dropped her of at the bank so she could withdraw the money, gave me the money then proceeded to go shopping around town.

RESULT!! :)

All well and good Don, but did you get to take a bath? You'd certainly need it after handling all that dirty money :o

You may have read in your paper that two carpet cleaners in East Yorkshire mafe 19 million not bad hey. and they laughed when i said I was a carpet cleaner.

However if the PR is true I worked out that the average Chem Dry Franchise turns over "200k and employs 4 people.
