That was quick
Has it really been 6 weeks
You havnt dried the windows (after using wfp for over 4 years)
Can you miss us out this time
I dont want it between october and march
you spend 10 minutes explaining the concept of wfp and then they show you where the outside tap is!
it always rains after you come
Thats cheating. (always from a passer by)
you missed a bit (always from a passer by)
You turn up during school holidays and the kid that has never met you even though you have cleaned there for ages tries to turn you away or makes you waite 10 minutes while they call their parents who then turn you away, as if your going to kill their kids or something.

Any more or does that cover it?  ;D ;D ;D
was the first one the wife  ;D ;D ;D

Being told they weren't very good last time.
I'm ever so sorry, why didn't you call me?
I didn't notice until (between 1 and 2 weeks later).  ???

We had one yesterday that said " we've just fed the twins and that brush will scare them, can you leave them this time, please "

one last month said " the dog's just gone blind, I don't want him stressed, can you leave them this time", then next door came out and said, " we are having new widows, can you leave them please."

I must be getting soft, cos I let them off, this time.

Being a dog owner, I can understand this one.  Dogs can be like your kids; in fact dogs can be more loved than your kids; and if my dog was ill, I wouldn't want a window cleaner stressing him.

I'd be okay with this excuse.

Best ever and this is true was....
"The cat is very ill so please don't do it today"
They're now looking for a new window cleaner
But on a regular basis we get...
"How do you do the insides?"
"You could do cars with that"
"You can use my outside tap if you want"
"Are you sure it's a month since you last did them"

"The cat is very ill so please don't do it today"

I reckon this is valid too!

Hey, cats and dogs have highly sensitive senses; they can hear and smell stuff far better than us.  They're also highly territorial; especially dogs; so it will stress the animal if they know there's a stranger about banging their house around with ladders or a WFP.

If my dog was seriously ill; I honestly wouldn't want a window cleaner washing my windows; obviously the health of my dog would be more important than having my windows cleaned at that time.

You should have a bit more understanding!

Why is it silly?

What if it rains heavily, thunder, lightening, local traffic etc etc
I doubt if a soft brush against the window with some water is likely to induce a heart attack.....if it does then clearly time is up for that animal

My dog knows when my car pulls up outside the house.  He can distinguish the sound my car makes from other cars who may stop outside my house.  This is a fact.  When I come home, Wor Lass says my dog runs to the door even before I've turned off my car engine.

So if someone is pushing a brush around a window on 'his' house, he's going to know about it; big style.  He'll know you're in the garden by the click of the gate.

It would stress him and if he was ill, I'd choose the welfare of my dog over any window cleaner.

I'm a window cleaner, a dog owner; and that's how I'd see it.

However, I must point out that one of my pet hates is being told, 'Not this month, mate!'.

That means 'never again' in my books, but I would agree that a sick pet is a good enough reason to be turned away; yet return the next time they're due.

Aren't we meant to be a nation of animal lovers?

my cats know my car and van engine and so does my dog....apparently a dog and a cat can sense that something is wrong hours before an earthquake happens .... they have senses far better than us........ having said that i would be able to reassure my dog not to get stressed ....its just the window man ! ::)

I regard myself as an animal lover Tosh.  Therefore I won't keep any as pets.  I also won't eat them.  ;D .
This is why I've considered a system where a customer has to pay 50% of the cleaning price for turning me away without notice (maximum charge of £10 say).  I may well start doing this for certain custies subject to them signing for T and Cs.  If they cancel over it then that's fine too.
So the answer is that you can give their pet a peaceful time but they have to pay for that peace as you're running a business.
