Things I hate to hear!
« on: April 17, 2009, 04:21:54 pm »
That was quick
Has it really been 6 weeks
You havnt dried the windows (after using wfp for over 4 years)
Can you miss us out this time
I dont want it between october and march
you spend 10 minutes explaining the concept of wfp and then they show you where the outside tap is!
it always rains after you come
Thats cheating. (always from a passer by)
you missed a bit (always from a passer by)
You turn up during school holidays and the kid that has never met you even though you have cleaned there for ages tries to turn you away or makes you waite 10 minutes while they call their parents who then turn you away, as if your going to kill their kids or something.

Any more or does that cover it?  ;D ;D ;D

My answer to "that was quick" goes "Yes.  I'm getting pretty good at this lately".  However, if it's a job I really do want to keep it goes "Yes I know.  I paid a lot of money for the tools to enable me to work so quickly."

The one that bugs me is "The last window cleaner only charged <insert some stupid amount that even a "bob a job" scout wouldn't work for>.  I always ask what happened to them and it's amazing the excuses previous window cleaners have come out with in order to dump a job when the real reason is that they made a pig's ear of the pricing.

Mmmm yes!

Woman I've been doing for 2 or 3 years:  Out of decency a few cleans ago "while I was there"  also did the inside of her double patio doors because her young kids had ... well...what kids do to patio doors....sticky fingers and all that!

Suddenly it's become part of the job ::)

"I'll send you a cheque". Why can't they just write it out and give it to me?
"Sorry I've got no change" Well I could change a fifty.
" I paid you last time" when I know they didn't.
" can you do the inside of the patio doore"? When I have to go back to the van for trad gear.
But the thing I hate to hear most, is the rattle of ladders on estates where I do most of the houses.

Yep so do i from a certain ethnic minority.

Must say that 97% of my customers are white English. The other 3% are white Europeans...and it must be said that these are the "we're OK for now thanks" merchants ::)

I have no blacks, Indians, Pakistanis, Chinese, Japanese or East Europeans on my books...which is bizarre because I work in Wandsworth which has a very multi-national populace.

It seems that having windows cleaned regularly is solely the domain of white English people!

Had a nice lady over here ( Germany ) said when I knocked to ask if she needed a WC. She said "My last WC in FIFE only charged a fiver" I said "Well give him a ring and see if he will come out here and do em then"

Got her as a custy now though. 8)
