tap leaking problems.
« on: April 04, 2009, 10:27:42 am »
i have a large ro inside the house which i connect direct to the van to fill. The problem i have is the tap to turn on and off the water. I have tried various plumbing fittings but they all leak sooner rather than later. Any ideas?

PTFE tape ;)

Yes, if the leak is on a 'screw fitting' PTFE tape is the solution.  It's a thin white plastic ribbon that you can buy from any DIY shop (it'll be in the plumbing section).

Wind it onto the thread conector, about seven times, anti-clockwise and screw the female connector on.

It just makes the join tighter and therefore stops any leaks.
