Advice Builders Clean Pricing

Have been asked to price for a builders clean.
Its a Victorian hall that has under gone total restoration,it has 70 Georgian wooden windows measuring about 7ft by 3ft with splashes of paint and cement on a lot of them and all well covered in dust.
Ground level and one storey high.
Access good
Outside only
Work is sub contracted.
Sorry no pics,any advice please on pricing etc...

price it up normally for georgian windows then times the price by 4 . . you'll regret it other wise. find out exactly what's needed . as suggested, have a disclaimer for scratches and get signed off at end of job.

ok, for a 7 x 3 normal window you'd charge a minimum of £1, maybe £1.50, but let's say £1

if it's all georgian then it's gonna take you 3 x what it would plain squeegeeing.

so, 70 x 3 = £210

now, think, each little payne you're gonna have to scrape the paint and the concrete off, then clean.

even if it takes 3 times as long, that's £630 !! . . after doing many builders cleans, I'd go for 4 times. = £840 !!

otherwise, you might as well just clean normal windows and earn more !!

The price I was thinking is exactly in between these 2 estimates,but was afraid it might be too high.So about £595 then.

if you're classing it as extra work then go for that price. It might take a little longer than you think but you'll still be £595 up :)
stick to yer guns though. You might get someone price half that. If so, let them do it, they'll regret it !!

I bottled it on the £595 quote tho and priced at £645.  :D

scratch damage waiver is MOST important, I've even gone to lengths of getting resi customers to sign one now if they want me to use a scraper to remove paint.

Ensure all other trades have finished - you should be the last one in!

yeah, like thats gonna happen!!!  :)

so true !!!! funny cos it's just common sense but it never happens !! you go in wondering why the hell you're doing this cos in 10 mins they're gonna be covered in paint/plaster/mastic/concrete/glue/mud/fingerprints/tape etc  >:(
