Unfinished project I would be asking what needs doing first before bidding

Water tank is missing for starters - no idea how much one of these is.

Then you would probably have to take it to Hydramaster to be checked out rather than take the sellers word for it.

Even if you had to throw another grand at it then its still a bargain - Hydramaster have 2 spitfires due in, both have significantly higher hours on the clock and they are both around the 3 grand mark.

Are you in the market for a TM as well?
Would be a good move if you are.

Tank is as much as a grand and £60 plus vat an hour for labour and you'll want air fliter and plugs etc etc then there's the fit into your van.

That's providing there's nothing wrong elsewhere, I'd say add more like £2k.

I missed out on that one because I spent too long weighing up the pros and cons instead of trusting my instincts  >:(

Shaun

Thanks for those prices, puts the total outlay into perspective - even so those 2 on Hydramasters site are 3 grand and then as you say you've still got to get it fitted.

Joe

Ultimately I want to be truckmounted as soon as possible, but certainly within the next year. I have just invested a lot of money on marketing products as I need to seriously boost my business - so it's chicken and egg really, got to get more business to justify purchase of T/M

Steve if you have the work a TM is a must but only get it when you are pulled out with it, don't forget if you are doing supply and fit a TM takes up quite alot of room so you may need a bigger van.

Also everything in there gets a small coating of fumes so carpets need to be wrapped in plastic.

I rang the guy in the morning, had a quick chat with someone about it and got back to him. He said there was a guy driving down to see him with the CASH. ;D

Very happy with how it worked out in the end, will keep me happy for a few years I hope. :)

I still do supply and fit but in the current climate it is few and far between - plus I've been doing it for 27 years and I don't want to still be on my knees in 5 years time, thats why last year I decided to put all my efforts into the cleaning side, whereas before it was only an add-on service.

When I do finally get a T/M - if I get any supply and fit work I will consume the cost of renting a van for the duration of the job.

What about the HM Max that Lee Grundy had for sale. Iveco van mounted. Looked clean setup. W reg van but last heared it was going for 7500 or offer.
Dont know if Shaun has more insight.

The Carl Collins, Collins Marblesheen was flogging a Paramount 20, only a few hundred hours.

I thought Marble Sheen's TM was no bargain at all he had literally knocked the vat off and also he'd put a few hundred miles on it so that is why he won't sell it in a hurry.

Lee on the other hand has a 450 diesel aith 2500+ hours but knowing Lee it will be well looked after but he does some dirty carpets!! the van had no tax or test so that could be a problem.

Quite a bit out of my price bracket Joe - in fact most things are out of my price bracket at the moment !

Recently been through a bitter divorce and to cut a long story short I have lost everything - so I am starting again in every sense of the word.

Build yourself up to it then but take it easy.

Shaun - originally Lee was going to put 12 months MOT on it but as the price went down he cut that out.
I thought a lot about it. Think it was 31hp (?). Probably clean carpets well on half throttle, and if watercooled it would be good for many more hours.
