so i picked up my first ever WFP set up today.

i now have a 4040 RO system and a shiney new 75 litre trolley. I have the 4040 running at the mo, it was taking my 200ppm water at 100psi down to 6ppm straight away!! so tomorrow i hope to get my final few bits and bobs sorted (like gettin 8mm microbore onto reel) and then hopefully i will be cleaning windows very shortly!!

any last final hints or tips....and dont say get a real job!! lol

The first few weeks can be tough, but stick with it, take your time, and you'll soon get past the tricky first cleans.

got all set up now, producing pure water at a rate of around 4 - 6 litres per minute. cleaned a couple of windows on our house and it seems good so far. just need to work on my technique and pole useage!!

its made by sureclean systems, based in Omagh, Northern Ireland. You can see pictures on their website or i can try and post some eventually for you all if you want.

i know a lot of you guys think trolleys are a waste of time, but for me and my situation i felt it was the best way to go.

and if they give you hell tell em there backward.

The 40x40 is a good investment and was well worth getting first off IMO,when your up and running and you need more water it will be there for you.These smaller RO`s will say they produce so much water but normally that`s if it`s running 24-7,i can fill 1000 in about 4 hours un pumped.

Waste of money if you ask me  better off investing in better poles first. Then after a couple of years when you have work coming out of your ears and employ another cleaner upgrade to a 4040.

Got to agree with ftp on this one..given the choice between a 4040 and a SL-X and decent brush head..I'de get the pole...then when business gets good...upgrade to a 4040. ....for  most a 200gpd running for most of the day making 400litres is fine...I rarely use more than 400 litres in a day and I think that goes for a lot of one man operations....

But then again if you have got the cash ...be a devil and HAVE IT ALL!!!

haha!!

so i think what i can summarise from all that is that everyone has there own opinon!!

mines (and the only one that can make any difference to my set up ) is:

the 4040 is great - yes its a bit more expensive but whenever i want pure water its there.
the trolley leaves me flexible, as im working with car and trailer i can use it as a static set up or if access is bad, whip her off and away i go lol!
now i have to agree with you on poles!! it is somewhere you want to invest wisely! i did a couple of houses today and im finding it a little short and with quite a lot of bend.

oh ps i had my first paying WFP customer today!! i was practising on my uncles house and the woman next door, who i had done trad before, asked me to do hers....happy times! and im very pleased with how the system cleans the windows.

my only advice would be don't hit the vents with water, they trickle dirty water long after you leave

Get a 200gpd unit and have a competition with it see if you can pee quicker,  i bet you can lol.

Good point about different opinions, some will tell you to waste £3000 on a hot system. Others might tell you to blow twenty to thirty thousand on a van set up.

My advice now with hindsight would be to use your cash to buy an established compact round if one came up and start earning good money from day one.
You don't need a shiney van, a 4040, a hot system, signwriting a uniform or carbon poles what you need are customers. When you start picking up work it's going to be everywhere, you will be very unlikely to get a street or a culo-de-sac so much of your day is going to be wasted dashing about. Lack of work or good work is the most frustrating part of setting yourself up.
Once you've got them then start playing with the extra luxuries.
Nothing wrong with your kit if that's what you want - after six months you'll know exactly what suits you.

its easy to be over sold on things, esp the RO, if you cannot get by on a 200 or 300 GPD unit something is wrong ( for a 1 man band ) i can get 3 days work out of my 400 L tank and i use a 100 GPD unit( which isnt filled to the top )

lightweight pole would be my first choice, completely changes the way you work, its no longer a slog

a 75 L trolley is interesting, i was thinking of a 60 L trolley, i could then mount a reel on the cart and just park it outside a house and run the hose
