had a look at ionics new 25 ft pole the clamps where awfull, it was new and the pole was slipping i looked at the clamp and there was no adjustment left to make, the salesman said it was one of the first batch and the issue was being dealt with, has anyone bought one of these poles and if so have they had the clamp issue fixed by ionics.

Heard Terry calling your name on the Window Cleaner Comp, stood around waiting so I could say Hi., but you were probably just passing Manchester by then and couldn't hear him;D

Went to look at the Gutter Vac systems and was very impressed with Omni-Vac and had a nice chat with Glyn. Some serious thinking to do now if I'm gonna go down that route.

Overall didn't seem to be as busy as last time and didn't come away with anything to get excited about window cleaning wise,  but the Baudin poles were pretty good if you like Modular Poles and have plenty of dosh!!

How many of you managed to get a free brush from Brodex? Everyone that I spoke to had one though don't know about the Window cleaning Wizard. Spoke to him at Omnipole stand then he disappeared.

  I went today to look at the Omnipole gutter vac system - still think it is a bit expensive and was not impressed that the bloke I spoke to smelt like he hadn't cleaned his teeth for a week.
  Liked that indoor pole thing, though again a bit pricey, but could see alot of mileage from it.
  Surprised there were no low waste RO systems to be seen as that is another thing we were interested in looking at.

  On a brighter note, bought a new squeegy for £3 -bargain!

if you decide to get a gutter vac let us know how you get on with it, i know a lot are extremely happy with them but i am still skeptical on whether they are practical for all the different types of guttering you come accross, mind you i was skeptical about wfp and didnt commit to it as soon as i should have.

Hiya Robin it was a shame you left an hour before us because your van was a landmark to where my car was parked. Took us 20 mins to eventually find it.

Ionics 65ft pole is quite nice and lighter than the Ergolites but still a bit whippy....... Section lengths are more manageable though.
The 75ft is total naff in my view..... The sections are still 8ft long so you have to walk it up a building or use a step ladder which to me defeats the idea.
The fancy paint job on their new poles reminded me of a bad custom car spray job from the 70's....... (Flames over the wheel arches)
Interesting how Ionics claim to have no business connection with the Acadamy but they were next door to each other and actually shared some space...... Hmm..
The crash testing video they showed was intersting but in my view it looked misleading when showing crash tests of "competitors" systems.
Nice to meet the guys from Cleanitup even though it seamed all of them had strong foreign accents I will not hold that against them.....lol
Very good price at their stand for a trolley system......
The Baudin inside window cleaning system was very good until they told you the price..... £950+ vat......... Its not worth even half that price in my view...... PLUS parts were starting to fall off it which does make you think about how reliable the thing is. I did like their modular pole as it was teardrop shaped rather than just round which made it more ergonomic in your hand. It also has a connector to hold the modular sections together which would prevent the sections from rotating when in use.
Not impressed with the new Brodex gutter cleaning system but I will say that it was there as more of a showcase to show what they were developing next. Shame they didn't have their hot water system there. The new Hydra poles are pretty good and I got confirmation that they are stopping production of the Prolong but they will still be makeing aluminium poles but in the new Hydra range. Brodex have also reduced many of the collapsed lengths to enable them to fit inside more vans.
Went over to say "Hi" to the guys at Xline and WCR but they were always really busy. Xline had some good deals on for the show (100m microbore for £50) and were also 1 of the few stands that had guys in company uniform which did make them look professional and friendly rather than pushy salesmen.

how come they're showing videos of their competitors when they got the info of their poles taken off another competitors site when they compared different poles ??

Doesn't matter to me, I've learnt from others not to go down the ionic route but I don't see why it's ok for one company to compare others but not let others compare them !! . . anyway, I've probably opened up a can of worms so I'm off to work now !! lol
