why didn't I think of that ?? !!!!!! Aaarrggh !!

I wanted to go to the show to try out the SL2. Glad I didn't go now because I wouldn't have seen one !! . . But I still bought one yesterday. Reason . . 1stly, I've heard a lot of good things about gardiners poles. 2nd, Alex is always ready to help with replies and 3rd, one of my friends has one and he loves it.

It's ok to go to shows and try everything out, but sometimes it's nice when someone has used it in the real world.

I wish all the best for Alex and his business.

I bought one yesterday too, business is booming, no need to attend the show. I didn't even bother looking at another pole, Alex's response to questions, and any issues raised on this forum was good enough for me, 60ft here I come.

Ionics 65ft pole is quite nice and lighter than the Ergolites but still a bit whippy....... Section lengths are more manageable though.
The 75ft is total naff in my view..... The sections are still 8ft long so you have to walk it up a building or use a step ladder which to me defeats the idea.
The fancy paint job on their new poles reminded me of a bad custom car spray job from the 70's....... (Flames over the wheel arches)
Interesting how Ionics claim to have no business connection with the Acadamy but they were next door to each other and actually shared some space...... Hmm..
The crash testing video they showed was intersting but in my view it looked misleading when showing crash tests of "competitors" systems.
Nice to meet the guys from Cleanitup even though it seamed all of them had strong foreign accents I will not hold that against them.....lol
Very good price at their stand for a trolley system......
The Baudin inside window cleaning system was very good until they told you the price..... £950+ vat......... Its not worth even half that price in my view...... PLUS parts were starting to fall off it which does make you think about how reliable the thing is. I did like their modular pole as it was teardrop shaped rather than just round which made it more ergonomic in your hand. It also has a connector to hold the modular sections together which would prevent the sections from rotating when in use.
Not impressed with the new Brodex gutter cleaning system but I will say that it was there as more of a showcase to show what they were developing next. Shame they didn't have their hot water system there. The new Hydra poles are pretty good and I got confirmation that they are stopping production of the Prolong but they will still be makeing aluminium poles but in the new Hydra range. Brodex have also reduced many of the collapsed lengths to enable them to fit inside more vans.
Went over to say "Hi" to the guys at Xline and WCR but they were always really busy. Xline had some good deals on for the show (100m microbore for £50) and were also 1 of the few stands that had guys in company uniform which did make them look professional and friendly rather than pushy salesmen.

Regards
Mr H

I've just got back from show. Had a beer with Jeff Brimble and his wife and also a lad from Peters Forum. Was good to see all different variations of trollys etc though most can be made a lot cheaper if you go down the diy road. Was very impressed with the Baudin site promoting carbon fibre poles that clean inside windows. Though the price was a bit of a choker. Had some free sandwiches and cake on the Kaucher stand. Saved wasting silly money on NEC prices etc.

i have just got back too was going to hang around for window clean competition but was bored by 12 o clock so came home, the baudin poles where very good but a 14m one was about £2000 there brush that did sills at same time looked great too but as said too expensive.
in all i think the show this year was a bit disapointing, i was looking to see if any where showing any hot water add ons but only brodex was advertising theres and didnt have one at show to look at but at £3800 i dont think i would be buying one anyway.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Baudin fibre poles that clean inside windows looked great but seem a bit expensive at 800 euros.  Hopefully someone will come up with a DIY version as the pads them selves are only £3.50.
